Combining active, hands-on learning with fascinating educational talks and an opportunity to have an up close and personal view into our amazing aquatic world, a visit to SEA LIFE Brighton is an educational experience like no other.

We have something fun and inspirational for all ages!

In addition to our amazing aquarium experience, we work closely with schools to develop information that engages and inspires young people. Self-Guided Tours and Workshops for schools are available, and we give daily creature presentations. And throughout the year, we host a program of fun events to raise awareness of marine conservation issues and threats to our sea creatures.

My Special Aquarium

A classroom like no other, take your class on a journey into an underwater world.  Our early year’s program gives young children a fun and memorable experience that helps them to understand the world - one of the four learning and development requirements of the DfE Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. It’s now even easier to structure your visit to SEA LIFE and ensure the perfect balance of education and fun learning for your Early Years group. Self-guided learning is included in all packages!

This is a 45 minute tour of the aquarium led by a marine expert. We can tailor the tour to focus on specific creatures or topics - just let us know in advance. Afterwards you are free to continue exploring at your own pace.

Seahorse Package (Workshop)
50 Minute workshop led by our Education Team. My special aquarium workshop encourages children to talk about the different creatures they have seen at SEA LIFE then use arts and crafts materials to create their own aquarium to take home. Our primary school program is perfect for introducing pupils to a range of scientific topics and encouraging excitement and curiosity about marine phenomena in the natural world. Workshops are led by our Education Team.

Workshop Key Stage 1:
- Who Eats Who: Pupils can get creative with arts & craft materials to make their very own marine food chain.
- Underwater Top Trumps: Thinking about the behaviour of their favourite marine creatures, pupils will create top trump cards and discuss what makes the ultimate creature.
- Home Sweet Home: Using arts and craft materials pupils will design their own marine habitat, ensuring that the creatures within it have everything they need to survive.
- Save Our Seas: Through creative activities pupils will encourage others to help conservation.
- Marine Art and Textiles: Photograph, draw and get hands on with marine objects such as shark eggs, cuttlefish bones and coral skeletons.


Workshop Key Stage 2:
- Life Cycles: Learn about the life cycles of aquatic animals. Complete a life cycle craft to take away.
- Ocean food chain: Learn about the predators and prey of the oceans and complete your own food chain.
- Ocean Top Trumps: Thinking about the behaviour of their favourite marine creatures, pupils will create top trump cards and discuss what makes the ultimate creature.
- Save Our Seas: Through creative activities pupils will encourage others to help conservation.

Secondary Workshop Package (Key Stage 3 & 4)
Join a marine expert as they guide you around the world’s oldest operating aquarium. This hour long experience is your opportunity to ask questions and learn about the diversity of our oceans and its inhabitants.
Packages include:
- Entry to SEA LIFE Brighton
- 60 minute workshop
- 1 FREE teacher for every 5 paying children
- Additional teachers charged at £6.00 each
- Valid for groups of 10+ children.

Marine Protected Areas
- Suitable for KS3 & 4
- 1 free adult for every 5 children
The group will complete a case study with the help of a marine expert during this interactive workshop. Students will learn about the importance of the oceans, threats facing them, what marine protected areas are and how important stakeholders are to their success. This hour long experience is your opportunity to ask questions and learn about the diversity of our oceans and its habitants.


Marine Art and Textiles
- Suitable for KS3 & 4
- 1 free adult for every 5 children
The group will get the opportunity to photograph, draw and get hands on with marine objects such as sharks eggs, cuttlefish bones and coral skeletons. You will be given information about the objects and have the chance to study them in depth. Then you will have the opportunity to explore the world’s oldest operating aquarium.
